WHO's WHO

VIVIANA GÓMEZ ECHEVERRY

NATHALIE RODRIGUEZ MARTINEZ

Daughter of two doctors, Viviana Gómez Echeverry was born in Cali, the capital of salsa and a drug-infested city in Colombia during the 80's. She grows up in between drugs trafficants war, where life can be changed for cocaine or money.

It is in this context, between violence and the joy of music, where Viviana begins to explore the cinema with friends, in a response to the concerns of adolescence.

She goes then to study Social Media in Bogota and finds her passion for the camera, so she travels to Spain to specialize herself. After a couple of years in Europe, she returned to Colombia and got involved as a photographer in several documentary films. But the camera is not enough, she is interested in stories that portray life and wants to show her point of view. She takes the path of Direction as a quest to tell, within the cinema’s language, her own stories.
